Downtown Hackensack Main Street Business Alliance (MSBA) is thrilled to announce the debut of its newest cultural celebration: Salsa Social, a vibrant, high-energy outdoor dance party taking place Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Banta Place in the heart of Downtown Hackensack.
This free event will transform a downtown block into a dynamic, open-air dance floor where everyone – from seasoned salsa pros to total beginners – can move, groove, and celebrate the rhythms of Latin culture.
“The Salsa Social is more than a dance event – it’s about connection, culture, and community,” said John T. Peters, Executive Director of the Main Street Business Alliance. “We’re inviting everyone to come out, meet your neighbors, and experience how live music and dance can bring people together. What to Expect:
- A live DJ spinning both classic and modern salsa tracks to keep the energy going
- Free salsa dance lessons taught by professional instructors

On September 13th, Banta Place will be closed to traffic from approximately 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM to vehicular traffic. From 4 – 7 PM, the street will be filled with music, dance moves, and happy vibes! Whether you’re dancing with friends, bringing the whole family, or just want to soak in the lively ambiance, this fun Salsa Social offers everyone a chance to see Hackensack at its most spirited.
